Lesson plans

Our five-part lesson plans offer a number of suggestions on how you can structure your music lessons, using Gigajam as a tool.

Each lesson plan contains supporting video footage – just click on the links to view them. We also look at setting up a classroom, delivering the introduction to a lesson, as well as looking at the purpose of Gigajam TV Shows and Gigajam Songbooks.

We welcome any feedback you may have and we hope you find this resource useful.

Lesson plan one

In our first lesson, we will demonstrate to the students what they will be able to play after completing Level One of the Gigajam course. We will start by showing the Gigajam course writers performing one of the five specially composed tunes. The students will also have an opportunity to familiarise themselves with their instruments of choice, as well as learn how to use the software. Once they have run through their first music instrument lesson they will have an opportunity to play as a band. The lesson plan contains a two bar vamp for your students to play. They may be able to achieve this in your first session, or perhaps at the beginning of session two.
